This book was written and published before Trump II. I did not read much of it. I share some of McQuade's resentment of uncivilized discourse, but her prescriptions (in the last chapters of the book) are national/political, powers that are currently controlled by Trump and Republicans. Perhaps that is in the book as well, but I do not have time for 384 pages of what she wrote. I did NOT take the time to trace references to possibly more useful-to-me writing.
