Open Innovation

Henry Chesbrough, 2003

"Opening" innovation for large firms, mostly spinning off internal R&D for firms like IBM. I did not take the time for the whole book.

Chapter 6, pp 113 to 133, is about Intel's merged and outside-research-dependent new product development process; new processes and products developed in the same space as production processes, no separate R&D labs. Describes Copy Exactly and university coordinated research, and focused investments/collaborations by Intel Capital.
