A Train In Winter

230 French resistance women sent to Aushwitz. 49 survived to return to France, 7 still alive as the book was written.

A frightening book that makes me angry, and think of terrible things to do to the guards. Which, of course, is how the cycle perpetuates.

As I write this, thousands of non-Sunni Syrian refugees are in Europe, fleeing ISIS and the Syrian government. We drop bombs, but we don't protect and feed the refugees closer to their homes. And this will continue until we put much more effort into designing new ways to defuse conflict. Writing this in a country where Democrats and Republicans are encouraged to hate each other, it can happen here.
