Emotional abuse, paperwork, overwork, lawsuits, and the patients who are worth it.
Why do doctors isolate themselves rather than band together and support each other? No doctor is "bad", though some are misemployed in roles unsuited to their capabilities. Some roles have irrational requirements, and must be redefined to match reasonable human capabilities. And way too many patients are underserved, because the few doctors we have are filling out forms rather than providing medical care.
If "the system" was judged as individual doctors are, it would be imprisoned for murder.
